Europa litar nu på sin egen försvarsindustri i stället för USA
Natos europeiska medlemsländer följer nu Donald Trumps uppmaning och ökar sina försvarsutgifter. Beställningarna går dock inte längre i första hand till USA, utan nu satsar man på försvarsindustrin i de egna medlemsländerna. – Nu håller man Europa skyddat, och samtidigt skapar man jobb åt européer. Man köper inte längre från amerikanerna, utan behåller pengarna i Europa, säger den tidigare underrättelsechefen vid Finlands försvarsmakt.
Exporten av finländsk försvarsmateriel på rekordnivåer
Efter Rysslands anfallskrig mot Ukraina har försvarsbeställningarna ökat kraftigt i Europa. Finland och Sverige pekas ut som nyckelländer, och exporten av finländsk försvarsmateriel nådde rekordnivåer förra året. Samtidigt hinner industrin inte bygga ut produktionen i samma takt som beställningarna kommer.
